How can I use quizzes from one course in another course?

There are two options:

1) You can publish the category which the quiz questions are currently in. However, this will make your category questions visible, usable and editable by any teacher in Moodle. This is not recommended, and will not work if you are using images in your questions.

or

2) You can create a backup of the first course, selecting just quizzes (and course files, if there are any images in the quiz). You can then upload this file into your second Moodle course and restore it, “adding to the existing course”. (See the Guide on Backing up and restoring Moodle courses for further details on this.

How can I copy activities from one course to another?

Activities can be copied by using the “Import course data” tool. This copies all activities of a selected type or types from one course to another:

  • Go in to the course you want the activities to be copied to
  • Click on “Import course data” (in the administration menu)
  • Choose the course you want to copy the activities from in the “courses I have taught” drop down menu
  • Click on “use this course”
  • Select the desired activities from the list
  • If you have files e.g. images linked into the activities then in the course files drop down menu select “yes”.
  • Click continue 4 times.
  • All selected activities will be imported into the current course, and will be placed in the same topic sections as they were in in the course from which they came.
  • You may then need to either move activities or delete unwanted ones.
