How can I add an additional teacher to my course?
March 27, 2008 — alexfurrThere are 2 options:
1. If your Moodle course represents a SAMIS unit or programme then additional staff can be added in SAMIS by using the SOOT tool. This data will then feed through into Moodle and other e-tools. You will need to be either a module tutor in SAMIS or have been added as “Other staff” already to be able to add other staff yourself.
To access the SOOT tool go to https://www.bath.ac.uk/samis/urd/sits.urd/run/siw_lgn and click on “Manage staff groups”.
2. If your Moodle course is unrelated to a SAMIS unit or programme, then you can add other teachers in Moodle itself, as follows:
- Click on Teachers in the administration menu on the left
- Search for the person to add (If the person does not appear in Moodle, look in the Staff Area, where there is a block entitled Create Your Courses. Click on the Add User link. In the popup window, you can add BUCS usernames of your colleagues to Moodle. If the popup window does not appear, your browser may be blocking such windows. These colleagues will now be registered on Moodle, so you will be able to them to you Moodle course as add teachers)
- Next to their name click on “Add Teacher“
- Save changes
